Where Do I Put CGI Scripts?

CGI Overview:

CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface. It allows you to run programs on your domain's server, such as counters, guestbooks, discussions, etc. to make your site more dynamic.

There are many free CGI scripts (programs) available. Just search for free CGI scripts on your favorite search engine.

Perl Information:

The version of perl installed is: 5.10.1

The path to perl is:

/usr/bin/perl

The absolute path for CGI is:

/home/username/public_html/cgi-bin (where 'username' is the username for your hosting account). Note that the script you choose may require the use of a trailing /, please check the installation instructions.

Path to Sendmail:

The path to sendmail is:

/usr/sbin/sendmail

Where Do I Put CGI Scripts?:

All CGI scripts should be uploaded to the cgi-bin folder for your domain. Be sure to follow the instructions for the script you are uploading regarding setting permissions on the files and folders you create, as they vary from script to script.
